House Is Expected to Pass Biden’s $1.9 Trillion Covid-19 Relief Package

Covid-19 is a deadly virus that has affected people and caused a lot of death across the globe. The virus spreads via respiratory droplets produced (through sneeze or cough of an infected person). Right now(on February 27, 2021), also there are many active cases of the virus and 2.5 million people died till date (February 27, 2021) due to the virus. Covid-19 made all the people sit at home for someday that affected the economies of all the countries. The virus created both economic and public health crises across the globe.

All the countries are facing this shock even the strongest economy the US got disrupted by this pandemic. The US has suffered the death of more than 510 thousand peoples till date (February 27, 2021). Now even there are more than 77,000 active cases in the US. Due to this virus, many people went jobless and ran out of money, and to handle this situation Joe Biden came up with the plan of Covid-19 relief package worth $1.9 Trillion. The House is trying to pass the plan by sending it to the Senate. Biden’s took care of almost everything in his plan:

  • Direct payment of $1,400 to most Americans and the same amount for dependents.
  • A sum of $350 for relief of state, local and tribal government.
  • For a national Covid-19 vaccination program, a sum of $20 billion is being provided and $50 billion for testing.
  • Paying a sum of $3,600 to families per child over a year.
  • For K-12 schools and higher education institutions an amount of $170 billion to cover reopening costs and student aid.
  • Increment in the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025.

Seeing a bill as large as $1.9 trillion, the representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties started debating over the bill. The business analysts saying that it would be great for workers to provide them with additional stimulus but there is no necessity for a bill as large as $1.9 trillion.
