The Israeli team of experts has so far been able to train and set up a rapid COVID-19 identification solution, acquired for USD 15 million from an Israeli start-up by Reliance Industries Limited. Because of the increase in coronavirus-related cases in India, the Breath of Health delegation (BOH) has already obtained emergency approval upon request from Reliance and will soon fly out, sources of the company said here. In cases of coronavirus, Israel has temporarily prohibited its citizens from flying into 7 nations, including India. Experts from the Israeli medical technology company will lead the team of Reliance in India to use the ground breaking method, that it develops to identify carriers of coronaviruses and patients in the early phases of the disease through exhalation.
A USD 15 million deal was signed with BOH in January by Reliance Group to distribute its breathing test system COVID-19. The arrangement is to buy the Indian corporate giant’s hundreds of systems of USD 15 million from the Israeli company, and to use them for millions of tests a month for USD 10 million a month. The breath test device that detects COVID-19 at a success rate above 95 percent is said to have been created by BOH. A success rate of 98 percent compared to the regular PCR test approved by global medical organisations, the preliminary outcome of clinical trials conducted with the Israel Hadassah Medical Center and the Sheba medical Center in Tel HaShomer has shown. “Equipment has already been deployed or sent to India and will enable India to combat the pandemic,” said the company’s spokesperson. Israeli Deputy Minister for Health Yoav Kish visited BOH Laboratories in the northern Israeli town of Rehovot to follow closely the preparations for an independent departure to India, to complete the first device that landed in India a week ago. The Minister himself passed a breathing test and thanked the BOH team for its accomplishments.
“Indian teams are being trained to use technology that is seen as an advance in the field and that can help Indians monitor the Indian variation,” says the Israeli firm. “The worsening Corona crisis in India prompted Reliance and the Israeli company to dispatch an Israeli delegation to India to assist the Indian government in dealing with the outbreak of the pestilence, which has claimed the lives of over 200,000 Indians and is spreading across the country,” it said. A 3,780 new record, the fatality of COVID-19 was reported in India in a single day on Wednesday, with a death toll of 2,26,188. The number of COVID-19 cases increased to 2,06,65,148 in the country with the fresh cases.
