Redefining Mobility: Hyundai Came Up with Their Latest Concept of Walking Cars

There is a big reason why Hyundai engineers are working on their latest concept of walking cars because there are some places where the vehicles could not be driven. It doesn’t matter that how great the off-road vehicles are, sometimes we cannot drive cars at a few places. Their latest concept is something like car walks to the places where it can’t be driven.

Hyundai named the four-wheeler as Tiger X-1, where each wheel is generated by an electric motor as soon as it detects the obstacles and finds out the car cannot be driven through those obstacles. The legs can also bend as the wheels roll over uneven terrain. The vehicle can be driven in all the directions such as side to side, forward, or backward using both legs and wheels also.

A division of Hyundai Motor Group named New Horizons Studio (based in California), is developing new cargo, The Tiger. The director of the New Horizons Studio John Suh said that vehicles like this can also be used to take a tour on the surface like the moon or any other planet.

Hyundai Envision is being used for difficult rescue operations such as an earthquake or any other natural disaster, and it is self-walking cargo that carries only supplies, not people. Hyundai said that the Tiger X-1 can also connect with the aerial drones that will take it to the remote locations and both the technologies can charge each other’s batteries as per the need.

There was a similar concept like Tiger X-1 named as Hyundai Elevate. The concept of Hyundai Elevate was revealed in 2019 at a consumer electronics show. it was showcased at the Elevate concept art. A vehicle that could safely carry people is going to time. According to Hyundai, at least another five years are required for the development and testing of the cargo Tiger before it is ready to use in the real world.
