Realme X7 Max to launch in India on May 4, could be rebranded Realme GT Neo

The Realme X7 Max is expected to be the company’s next flagship smartphone to be released in India. During the launch of the Realme 8 5G and Realme 8 Pro Illuminating Yellow colour variants, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth teased the arrival of the rumoured Realme X7 Max in India. He mentioned that the company would soon release the “Indian’s first MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G processor” smartphone. While the executive did not confirm the model’s name at the time, it is suspected to be the Realme X7 Max, which was previously rumoured to be equipped with the said SoC.

Madhav also announced that the company will hold its largest launch event of the year on May 4, and that the company will announce the first Dimensity 1200 powered smartphone in India. Sheth recently announced the launch information on his YouTube talk show #AskMadhav. Realme will also launch a new smart TV in India, as part of the upcoming launch. According to several sources, the Realme X7 Max will be the Realme GT Neo. The GT Neo, which is very likely to be the latest Realme X7 Max, was recently introduced in China with the Dimensity 1200 chipset. The phone will also be the first to use this chipset in India.

Realme X7 Max expected specifications

The Realme X7 Max 5G, which will be part of the company’s X7 series, is considered to be a rebranded version of the Realme GT Neo, which was recently released in China. If this is the case, the phone will have a 6.43-inch Full HD+ Samsung Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It will be powered by the same MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC, that powers the GT Neo, as previously confirmed. The device will have up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for the smooth and lag-free performance of the phone.

The Realme X7 Max 5G is expected to have three rear cameras. A 64-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 119-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter could be used in the rear camera setup. It could have a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The phone will also have a 4,500mAh battery with 50W fast charging, Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11, Wi-Fi 6, dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and other features. The Realme X7 Max 5G is estimated to be in the mid-range and cost less than Rs 30,000. It is expected to compete in China with the recently released Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition.

In addition, the company plans to release a new line of smart TVs with voice assistant capabilities, that will make use of an array of far-field microphones. A 43-inch model with a 4K screen and slim bezels on the sides has been verified. We can also see the release of a new 49-inch/50-inch TV. The brand should disclose more information closer to the launch date.
