A Largest Art Canvas, “JOURNEY OF HUMANITY”, sold for $62 Million

Sachi Jafri, a British artist made a painting which is said to be one of the biggest painting made on canvas. The painting got sold out for $62 Million at an auction in Dubai. The painting was named as “Journey of Humanity” and it is split totally into 70 framed sections which is almost equal to 4 basketball courts and makes up an area of 1595.76 square meters (17176 sq ft). Organizers confirmed that the work got sold out to double the amount it was estimated, and all the amount is going to charities that help children. Andre Abdoune, who is a French national, but a resident of Dubai bought those 70 framed sections on Tuesday at the auction which was kept in Dubai’s “Atlantis, The Palm”

The Guinness Book of World record confirmed the painting as the largest canvas which was put to display in a big hotel and was to be sold in segments which were 70 in the case of this painting. Abdoune who bought the painting told AFP that he knows what it feels like having nothing to eat and come from a poor family. He said that he finds himself lucky that he at least had his parents with him to bless him in each part of his life. Abdoune also said that he knows what this pandemic has cost all the children around the world who are homeless, and this painting’s money might bring some sigh of relief to those children. The artist Sachi Jafri has aimed to sell the painting at around $30 Million and put that money in the welfare of children all over the world in the impoverished parts.

Sachi Jafri also said, “Hope this painting will spark a humanitarian movement”. Children from all over the world, from around 140 countries submitted their work online that was to be included in Jafri’s creation. Sachi Jafri, who is just a 44-year-old artist said that he is very happy with the painting as it has risen above his expectation and the money coming from it would help him to make a change in the life of many underprivileged and poor children all over the world.  Jafri also thanked Andre Abdoune for purchasing his painting and giving him the respect, he has owned with this remarkable art. The 70 segments are now displayed in the ballroom of the “Atlantis: The Palm” hotel for the visitor to take a look at the amazing and creative art of the Dubai artist which would really bring a major change in the life of the impoverished children of the world.
