Koo, which is a desi version of Twitter announced on Tuesday, that the app is further introducing a new ‘talk to type’ feature, which would allow the users to post their content using a voice command. Aprameya Radhakrishna, CEO and Co-founder of Koo said that the feature of ‘talk to type’ is magical and might help the regional language creator to take their creativity to next level. Koo also claims that no other social media platform has ever used this type of feature and Koo is the first social media platform globally to use this type of feature, which supports the Indian Regional and local languages like Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Marathi apart from English.

Mayank Bidawatka, who is also the co-founder of Koo app, added that the ‘talk and type’ feature is not even available in Facebook, Twitter or any other social media platform. Aprameya Radhakrishna added that the users of Koo don’t need to type anything and use their keyboard, they can just think what they want to type and speak over the mic and their thought would appear on the screen. This feature removes the pain for those who find it difficult to type in the regional or local languages. Koo will keep adding some values to Indians, in a view of enabling the easiest localized forms of thoughts and present their thoughts to India in a simpler and magical way.

Koo app will launch their feature this year   in all 22 official Indian Languages, to empower the regional creators of India. Bidawakta also said in his statement that the Koo app is much relevant and contextual to Indian creators and also the creators outside the  country. The feature will help the new users who don’t have a command on the keyboard for the regional language, to put their thoughts on the screen just by talking  to the app.

Users can put their thoughts in any language they want. This feature makes the app user friendly and also might help to increase the downloads of Koo app globally. Koo has been the winner of the Atmanirbhar App challenge last year. Many government departments and Union Ministers have promoted the application, and also have signed up on the platform. Koo is also being used by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Koo, which has crossed around 3 million users in February this year is estimated to be a trending app in the coming future. Koo also has many similarities with the global microblogging platform Twitter. Therefore, Koo is having a yellow bird as its logo in similarity to the blue bird of Twitter. Koo is considered as the desi version of Twitter due to its similarities with the global platform, which allows the users to share posts and also use hashtag in the content. Koo gained a massive attention during the time when Twitter had blocked many accounts and was in a tussle with the government of India.
