Hero Electric, the nation’s leading two-road electrics company, intends to train more than 20,000 roadside mechanics across the country in the next three years, to address any problem that its customers may face as part of its plans to build trust in buyers that opt for green mobility. To alleviate the anxiety problems of the next two years, the Gurgaon-based company, which sold some 53,000 electric two-wheelers last fiscal to manage the vertical, also aims to establish around 20,000 charge stations across the country. It has already trained 4,000 mechanics and has also installed around 1,500 charging points till date.
“The electricity segment is set to explode in the country in the next few years, and the firm is therefore moving towards sharpening its skills across several vertical business lines. We are focusing on a multi-layered approach. We have dealers and then we also have sub-dealers in the periphery areas to cater to the demand of the customers”, said Naveen Munjal, Managing Director of Hero Electric. He noted that the company is training the roadside mechanics to be close to the customer and to attend to their daily needs.
“They will be our first line of points of service, so we do this. We also create charging infrastructure for customers who still have problems with a range of anxieties. More than 1,500 charging points have already been installed, the idea is that we will take that up to 20,000 in two years. We, therefore, take a multi-level approach to give customers confidence”, added Naveen Munjal.. The company aims to sell 1 lakh unit in fiscal 2021-22, developing business plans, thereby doubling sales by around 53,000 two-wheeler electricity in the fiscal year 2020-21.
“Our goal is to double sales this year to 1 lakh. We’re not going to do anything less than this. We already have 8,500 units per month, so now we want to continue this growth. We are striving to achieve this tax at the bare minimum. He noted that in the current fiscal year, the company will also expand its production capacity”, stated Naveen Munjal..
“At present we have about 75,000 units per year in our production capacity. We will expand it to three lakh units this year. This will suffice in our projections for the next two years, Next year it would look at another plant that would have nearly 10 lakh units per year in the next few years for the total installed production capacity”, Naveen said.
At the moment, Hero Electric has a Ludhiana production plant and two large distribution hubs in Hosur (Karnataka) and Patna (Bihar). A total of 700 crores have been allocated to expand and modernize its production installations, enhance the supply chain and other operational skills, that the information on the location and investment of the new plant had yet to be finalized.
“The recent steps were taken by the company, including the conversion of all it ranges from acid batteries to lithium-ion battery packages to the introduction of urban models (40-45 KMPH) would make Bullish remain ahead of the competition about the growth prospects of the EV segment. Low acquisition prices and savings benefits with the two-wheelers internal combustion engine are all favorable factors for the EV segment, convenience, and ease of use”, said MD Naveen Munjal.
“The consumer segment currently accounts for 90% of total sales. Right now, B2B is a small area for us, but we’ve spent a lot of time in that vertical for the last few years. The idea is that we will be more than six lakh units in the next four years (by 2025). So B2B was 35% or one-third of volumes at that time”, added Naveen Munjal, Managing Director of Hero Electric.
