A Dynamic Vision Sensor (DVS) is an imaging sensor that processes an incident illumination image and outputs a temporal log illumination change in an image such as that produced by a moving target and/or moving sensor platform. This allows DVS to eliminate background clutter and significantly reduce the sensor bandwidth required to track transient changes in the scene. However, the sensor bandwidth advantage is lost when imaging the scene on a moving platform due to platform motion causing optical flow in the background.
