Ford Will Go All-Electric By 2030 in Europe

Ford Motors, the carmaker is involved in manufacturing and marketing automobiles such as service cars and trucks across six continents. In February 2020, Ford launched its new EV for the first time for the European public named Mustang Mach-E. The all-new Mustang Mach-E will help the European consumers move towards an electrified future.

In Europe, the company announced that it is going to invest $22 billion in electric powertrains and vehicles by the year 2025 that will include $1 billion to upgrade their factory that is based in Cologne. The company aims to produce a mass-market of electric vehicles by 2023. In many countries, carmakers are switching from gas-powered vehicles to electric vehicles and the reason behind this is pollution that is caused by gas. Many countries have already set their targets to ban gas-powered vehicles by the year 2030 to 2050. The countries are following strict rules on emission control. This is the reason why carmakers are putting so much efforts to speed up their plan of electrification.

Ford is expected to design the first all-electric model specifically for their European customers by 2023. The statement came from British-based Land Rover and Jaguar that Jaguar will only offer BEVs or pure electric vehicles by the year 2026. Not only Land Rover and Jaguar but Volvo, Bentley, General Motors, and Nissan are also committed to going 100% electric.

Ford said it will switch to electric vehicle production in the next few years. the company mentioned that their entire commercial vehicle will be all-electric or plug-in hybrid. The vehicles are going to be capable of zero-emission by the year 2024. Ford also said that 100% of its passenger vehicle will be the same by the mid of 2026. Ford is expecting that by the year 2030, the passenger vehicles sold by them will be pure battery-electric and two-third of sales of its commercial vehicle will be either all-electric or plug-in hybrid.
